An Unreasonable Man

[originally posted on Tumblr, Thursday, May 22nd, 2008. Moved for contextual reasons.]

Critics increasingly oppose an American citizen’s campaign for the Presidency while turning sleepy-eyed at one extreme—angry at another—when the premise upon which they base their arguments is refuted. They simply can’t argue with the evidence. There is and never was any intent of sabotage.

To make one simple point: look at the votes the other unestablished parties tallied in 2000, and tell me the Green Party alone was ‘responsible’ for the outcome.
Additionally, you’re going to tell me that he had enough influence to sway voters in stating the widely-held sentiment that the Ass and the Pachyderm don’t belong in the Chordate subphylum Vertebrata?

This path may or may not be the best way to advocate the important issues, but I can’t fault on him on an ethical level. Furthermore, I find his steadfastness admirable in the face of growing attrition amongst his former supporters.

Ralph Nader is not delusional. He is courageous.
